So, What's With The Ducks?

... ok, so how did I get here making these unique little creatures?

Honestly, I wasn't always this out there.  At least I don't think so.

I have always loved fun, whimsical, quirky things.  That is what originally led me to
market the artwork for the California Raisins and Gumby cartoons - remember them?

Fast forward a few years and I have this crazy idea to take the computer generated
3-D artwork from the commercials of Coca-Cola, Anheuser-Bush, M&M/Mars, etc and
find a way to get it from the computer to acetate, like a Disney animation cel that people
could hang on their walls.

I had no idea what I was doing, but I found a great team of people to help me and
in the end my company became the largest publisher of artwork from television
commercials in the country!

So, what's with the ducks??

Well, one night a friend and I were having a cocktail or two (or maybe a couple more) and
we had this crazy idea to make rubber ducks that looked like celebrities!

Again, I had no idea what I was doing but that seemed to work for me in the past so I
called King Features and asked if they would like to see a Betty Boop rubber ducky.

Yep, that was an interesting conversation.

I am pretty sure the licensing lady thought she would never hear from me again, so she
told me to go ahead and make one, send it to her and then we would talk.

After I figured out how to make Betty, I sent her the rubber ducky.   And then I waited.

Well, wouldn't you know it, pretty soon after I got a message saying she really liked it!!

Ta, da - the birth of CelebriDucks!!

However, one duck does not a company make.
Things really didn't get moving until I received a call from The Philadelphia 76ers.

They wanted an Alan Iverson CelebriDuck.  That was an awesome duck.  We matched
Alan's cornrows, tattoos, and earrings exactly!!

That duck more looked like Alan than Alan did!.

The next thing you know, CelebriDucks is all abuzz on television, in magazines,
on the radio etc., and other celebrities wanted to be ducked out too!!

That was the moment when ducks with faces became my calling, my passion, my life.

Did I plan it?  No way, how could you.  But I always remembered what
John Lennon said:

"Life's what happens when you are busy making other plans."

Truer words were never spoken!
